I'm fond of fine tools, steel & knives. My first love is American made stacked leather fixed blades.

I am also very fond of Bark River Knife & Tool knives and have aquired a modest colltion.

I've also developed an interest in collecting vintage axes over the years. I have around 30+ vintage Kelly's, Collins, Plumb and Norlund axes. Again, fits with an appreciation of fine American tools & steel.

I'm retired, live in north central WI. My family heritage hails from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My great grandfather homesteded 160 arces ther in the 1890's. The land is now all wooded and still in the family. I try to spend as much time as possible there. Just enjoying the simple life style we have there. I did have a moment of weakness last year and we brought 220 service to our site. Life is a little better now with some creature comforts, lights, heat, air conditioning etc. We even brought power to the outhouse to run a heater when the morning are below 30 degrees.

Along with collecting axes...I enjoy collecting vintage one & two man crosscut saws and have aquired 30+ of them along the way. Along with the vintage saws, I collect vintage  logging tools of the period. The U.P. of Michigan has a rich history of logging and I enjoy the stories I get from older gentlemen who has used thse tools as a way of life.

My regards, Double Ott
