The recent cover of Tactical Knives featured a beautiful knife made for an American Son. The "Ginger" was appealing, but my research to purchase the knife from, "Boker, USA" actually lead to, Made in China". Marketing, top dollar... I get it. Practise what you preach, people!

There are criminals in every country in the world. If you are upset about Chinese dry wall you should be more upset with Lowe's, Home Depot and other companies like that who had no quality control in force. As to knives you should purchase from a reputable dealer who stands behind there goods and is willing to provide refunds for unsatisfactory merchandise. I use AG Russell who do give the country of origin for every knife they sell as well as all dimensions and materials
Don't take my sarcaism out of content, keep with the program!

People can choose to purchase knives manufactured anywheres but dont to it on the basis of name. There are many Ho's and Cho's who are US citizens and were even born here. My family has been in this country since 1856 and we came in with our name already changed. SO if you want knives made in America by Americans prepare to be ready to do a lot of research.
You've obviously never been shot at by someone from another country. And how did you become an expert on Rednecks and Klansmen? I work to support MY family, and so shuould you..., enough name calling, book up!

People who are reading Blade should try not to act like rednecks or Klansman. We are all human beings wheter we are from China or Nebraska. We all work to support our families and we all may have produced something that was not as good as it should have been

I have no problems with companies that choose to make their products overseas.  But don't expect me to pay American made prices for  knife made in china.  I will not name names but there are some companies out there ,with celebrity sponsors, that charge more money for their knives than Buck makes their knives here.  I see no point in buying that stuff, and if I can get a good American made knife for the same or a little more that the junk made in china I will do it.  The only thing that gets my goat is the hubris of those companies that charge those prices for something that costs a few dollars.  The quality might be good, but how would you feel if you paid a dollar for a pencil that maybe cost the pencil company 5 cents to make counting in cost and labor and transportation.  Also when you buy a knife made from anywhere but here, the major markup in that price you pay isn't on cost in labor, it's the cost to ship knife from China to here so when you buy that tacticool survival knife that a celeb just told you in an ad to buy you are actually paying for the fuel to power the cargo ship and the longshoremen to handle that container it came in, not whatever mystery metal the blade is made out of.  Whereas if you bought a Buck, or Benchmade, or the countless other companies that still do make knives here, more of the cost is going into materials and labor.  If you look at it that way I would rather my money spent on the metal and the labor rather than the fuel especially when the prices are similar
If you take the time to research pricing you will find that companies who sell knives made in the USA and made in China under their trade marks price them differently. The made in USA knives are 2 to 3 times more expensive than made in china ones. The easiest company to check this with is Kershaw as they have knives very similar made here and in China. I would also mention that I would not by a knife priced at more than I thought it were worth no matter where it was made. I would also not buy from a company that did not clearly mark the origin  of their products, size and materials they were made from.
