From Knife Showcase member SmokeEdge:

I was just vacationing in New York. I pulled out my NRG-2 in Penn Station to open a bag of chips my son bought. A cop with a machine gun came up to me and asked to see it.

I showed it and he gave it back. He warned me that it is not an acceptable type carry knife. I guess he let it go cause I was with my son.

But at the same time there was a group of younger kids there getting back from some type of hiking trip, about 15 of them. All had big sheath knives on their hips,I noticed Bucks and Kabars. None of them were bothered.

One more reason I am glad to live in Florida!
Common sense would dictate, with the current situation in NYC as it stands, to think before you act. As sad as that seems those would see Americans harmed definitely target NYC, so everyone there...Including those with "machine guns" are looking to keep it in one piece.
I guess people have different ways of looking at a situation. I don't recall hearing about anybody attacking bystanders in NYC with knives. When did this happen? Last I heard, it was planes that hurt people, not knives.
Sheathed knives are not concealed and are currently not targeted. Be aware of the knife laws, especially in NYC. Concealed pocket knives are illeagl at this time, and it is getting worse. But, on the other hand, punks with Uzi's are not an issue. Just goes to show you that any idiot over 18 years of age can vote.Knives don't kill people, they peel apples!
