Knifemaker Spotlight: Josh Smith
July 28, 2008
by  Brendan O'Brien

The blade of this boot camp knife from Josh Smith
is done in tiger stripe damascus and fossil mammoth
ivory scales. "This is a take down knife," Smith says.
"The knife comes completely apart."

Making his home in the mountains of Montana, knifemaker Josh Smith finds inspiration in his wife and three children. Since becoming the youngest master smith in ABS history at the age of 19, Smith has continued to establish himself as one of the most renowned makers in the knife industry. “I have been working on some very exciting projects abroad and I’ll continue to host the successful Big Sky Country Hammer In that attracts makers and collectors from all across the country,” says Smith. Focusing mainly on folders, fixed blades and swords, Smith – now 27 - attends four shows per year and is continually driven by his desire to create the top custom art knives around. His contact information: POB 753, Dept. BL10, 19495 Serenity Way, Frenchtown, MT 59834 406.626.5775 josh@joshsmithknives.com.
